NIWRC is dedicated to reclaiming the sovereignty of tribal communities and safeguarding Native women and their children. Through training and technical assistance, educational resources, and policy development, NIWRC provide national leadership to show that offenders can and will be held accountable and that Native women and their children are entitled to:

1) Safety from violence within their homes and in their community;

2) Justice both on and off tribal lands; and

3) Access to culturally-appropriate services based on their tribal beliefs and practices.

Established in 1959, Little City was founded by a group of parents who dreamed of a revolutionary environment for their children who “experts” often said should be institutionalized.

The nonprofit includes a 56-acre campus in Palatine with a choice of housing, programming and educational options as well as a foster care placement office in Chicago. Little City recently added the Duffey Family Children’s Village of state-of-the-art group homes for children and doubled their square footage and capacity of its ChildBridge Center for Education.
